Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a cutting-edge, body-based therapy that helps people process deep-rooted trauma by working with the brain’s earliest, pre-conscious responses to threat and attachment disruption. Unlike traditional talk therapy, DBR gently guides you toward the core of traumatic experience—before thoughts or emotions even form—allowing for profound and lasting healing.
DBR is based on neuroscience and focuses on the brainstem-level patterns that occur in response to overwhelming events. These early responses often remain stuck in the nervous system and can lead to symptoms like chronic anxiety, shutdown, relational difficulties, or a sense of being “on edge” without knowing why.
In a DBR session, you will:- Learn to track subtle bodily signals that come before emotion or thought
- Access the original orienting response your brain made in the face of threat or disconnection
- Safely process the shock, pain, or fear stored at a deep neurological level
- Release held tension and trauma without becoming overwhelmed
This approach is especially helpful for attachment-related trauma, early developmental wounds, and experiences where there may be little or no conscious memory. It is gentle yet powerful—offering a path to healing that doesn’t require re-telling your story over and over.
DBR helps restore a sense of inner stability, safety, and connection by resolving trauma where it began—in the deep brain systems that shaped your earliest experiences of the world.
I am offering DBR Therapy in the Orlando area. I trained under Dr. Frank Corrigan, the creator of Deep Brain Reorienting. This brain-based modality has brought relief to many of my clients who live with dissociative disorders, relational traumas, early attachment wounding, and chronic health issues caused by trauma. I use it in combination with Attachment Focused Trauma Treatment for Adults (AFTT-A) and EMDR Therapy to provide a gentle but effective holistic treatment.
